    POWTECH 2004: CEMAG Anlagenbau


    Despite the strained economic climate, CEMAG Anlagenbau GmbH, Hameln, an expanding company building turnkey plants for the cement industry, has completed its delivery program by machines and processes for the fine particle industry.

    Top priority has the processing of minerals. Minerals, fine-milled to fillers, are an important component in products used in the industries. Used in paint, in plastic, in pharmaceutical tablets, in rubber or even in sealing compounds. The fine-milled powder used as filler always lead to an improvement of the products respectively to a reduction in costs.

    Writing papers as well as copy papers are still essential today. To produce writable paper, the gaps between the fibres must be filled with very fine filler. Hereby different slurry containing different fine milled minerals powder is used. In layers it coats the paper felt, from layers to layer the mineral particles have to be finer and finer from 800 nm (nanometer) to 2 µm (micron) working from inside to outside.

    Calcium carbonate fine milled to approx. 10 – 30 µm, which should be used for the desulphurisation of exhaust gas from powerstation, shows very good results. The gypsum emerging from this process will get reactive by a secondly milling in the new CEMAG-turbo mill. Hereby the reactivity of the gypsum increases considerably. Today these synthetic gypsums are a strong part of the gypsum board market and the building industry.

    With its design and development of classifiers CEMAG Anlagenbau GmbH tries to fit the market need for finer and finer products.
    Today CEMAG has probably one of the widest classifier program in Europe. This program ranges from extremely big classifiers for the cement industry with 10 m diameter for bulk materials to state-of-the-art classifiers up to high tech classifier made from spec. metal to obtain fine particles with a fineness smaller than 5 µm.

    Today the old recognition could still be applied: the final product quality which is important for the client can be achieved by the classifier, the mills used for the grinding process are technically secondary. Nevertheless, at any time CEMAG makes the effort to use the best grinding aggregates. However, the energy consumption used per ton of the ground product is of particular importance.

    Whether in ball mills, roller mills, turbo or jet mills, CEMAG can optimise the respective milling and classifying devices and to adapt them to the client’s requirements.
