    Design of Pneumatic Conveying System

    Hello Sirs,

    I am an Engineering trainee working on a project on the design of pneumatic conveyer for transfer of toilet soap noodles (specific gravity 0.9). I have certain queries regarding the same.

    Is there any information bank that could help me with the design values (for Saltation Velocity, Pick up velocity required, Blower Capacity Required etc.)?

    Are there any empirical formulae for estimating Saltation Velocity, Pressure drop along the pipe, that could serve as the starting point for the design of the system?

    Also, is there any software available for design of the system?

    I would be highly obliged if you could provide me with relevant informations.

    our company made a succesful design of pneumatic conveying system for soap pelets 8 years ago. The design capacity was 2.8 t/h, conveying distance cca 35 m, elevation 13 m, specific density of soap cca 1000 kg/m3, bulk density 430 kg/m3. If you need a help, send me more details to my E-mail.     I will be glad to help you with any specific questions.

    Belt Cleaners

    Have seen your post.
    Do not have books but references.
    We are manufacturer of a wonderful belt scraper called "Dirt Whacker". Our extension in ALL companies in Europe but as well as Africa makes our scraper n°1.
