Thread: Flow Properties of Sulphur Granules

  1. #1

    granule sulphur

I´m looking for properties of granule sulphur. This properties are:

    angle of internal friction
    angle of repose
    angle of wall friction
    effective angle of friction

    Thanks.

  2. Re: flow properties

    Dear Miguel,

Please proceed with caution if you are trying to use non specific data to design a vessel for your material. It is a common misconception that just because a material has the same name as another, that it must have the same flow characteristics.
If you are going to undertake a modification or design exercise it is a false economy to save on having the flow properties of your material measured (especially if time consolidation or caking effects are prevalent factors). An inappropriately designed vessel will loose your company money, year on year.

Many organisations can provide this type of service, but if you would like to discuss your operations and flow requirements in more detail, please feel free to contact me.

  3. Sulphur granules

    Dear Mr Angel,

we have published some information on the flow properties of sulphur granules in BULK SOLIDS HANDLING Vol. 18, no. 2, pp. 211-217. This may give you an idea about the sulphurs' behaviour. But I totally agree to the posting of Mr Farnish, that it is better to measure the flow properties of the material you have to deal with, because alone the name of a bulk solid cannot provide sufficient information on the behaviour. If you need consulting service, please feel free to contact me.

  4. They may be an easier solution to ensuring flow and preventing build upd!

Hello Mr Angel - I thought that I would ask if the reason for your enquiry on flow properties of granulated sulphur, was to do with your concerns about the flow of this material within silos and hoppers.

If so you may be interested to visit our web site www.primasonics.com and learn a little about the benefits of Primasonics Acoustic Cleaners and how they have ensured continual material flow and eliminated material build up in a wide range of silo sizes, materials and industries.

It is a simple but very effective technology using sound waves to prevent 'material to material' and 'material to structure' bonding from occuring. I would be happy to provide you with some typical case studies or advise you on your specific problem. You can e-mail me on sound@primasonics.com if you feel that i can help you.

  5. flow properties sulphur

    Dear Mr. Angel

I agree with previous contributors that the name is not enough to judge about the flow properties. But we can deliver you a silo " The Idea Flow Silo", which is guaranteed trouble free , independent of flow properties.

We can offer you a service from flowability measurement , design and delivery of installation.

Please consult our website WWW.IPT -ONLINE.COM where you will find description of our products and services.

    Best regards
