    Stand 11-211

    Atex Certification for Italvibras motovibrators

    Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX Directive or Directive 100A) concerning protection systems and equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres, has come into force on 1st July 2003.

    Amongst the main requisites of the Directive is the one that obliges companies that manufacture protection systems and equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres to obtain the so-called “notification of the guarantee of production quality”: Italvibras obtained notification of the guarantee of production quality N° CESI 00 ATEX 061 Q in 2000, along with UNI EN ISO 9001 certification. Italvibras was the first Italian company to have obtained both UNI EN ISO 9001 certification and ATEX Notification at the same time and the seventh company in Italy to possess ATEX Notification. Safety is one of the essential factors when it comes to choosing components for the production systems, particularly in the chemical sector. This is why Italvibras produces safe and reliable electric vibrators: CE marking, IP 66-7 certification and, for potentially explosive atmospheres, ATEX-CESI (EEx e – EEx d), U.L., C.S.A., D.I.P. Australia, ensure that Italvibras vibrators provide the necessary safety in all applications.

    Italvibras decided to combine the reliability obtained from the technologies used for the MVSI series electric vibrators (which act as a reference for all industrial processes where vibration systems are required) with the structural properties of stainless steel.

    Italvibras exhibit at Powtech 2004 MVSS series stainless steel electric vibrators, which combine the reliability obtained from the technologies used for the MVSI series electric vibrators with the structural properties of stainless steel. These MVSS series stainless steel electric vibrators feature total protection from liquids, dusts, aggressive substances and contaminants thanks to the casing and external components, which are made of stainless steel.The MVSS series, with its IP 66 mechanical protection degree and IK08 shock-resistance degree, has been designed to operate in all environments and conditions of use: vacuum encapsulation of the stator winding with special resin or the “drop by drop” impregnation method using two-pack resin in insulation class H, guarantee total safety for the electrical insulation and ensure that the winding is mechanically blocked, thus preventing damage caused by the high vibrations produced. Surface finishing and a new design allow process deposits (dusts, liquids, thick products, etc.) to flow and be eliminated more easily. Thanks to all these features, MVSS series stainless steel electric vibrators are best used in the chemical, petroleum chemistry, food, pharmaceutical, fish processing and ecology sectors and for all those applications where the vibrator must be fully protected against aggressive substances.

    Italvibras will also be exhibiting the MICRO series, which has been designed for continuous use in industrial processes that require smaller size electric vibrators with a lower centrifugal force. MICRO electric vibrators are used in many different applications for the feeding, conveying, sifting, sorting, separating and compacting processes carried out by automatic machines in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, packaging industries and for automation purposes in general.

    The other Italvibras production lines are:
    • the MVSI series, the reference product line (from 0 to 250 kN) for all manufacturers of vibrating machines and systems;
    • the CDX series (from 0 to 218 kN), which are designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres;

    • the vertical flanged electric vibrators (from 0 to 68.7 kN), which have been specially designed for all vibrating machine applications where the vibrator must be fixed in a vertical position.
