    MEYPACK Shows Sack Closing Machines

POWTECH is undoubtedly one of the main specialist trade fairs for MEYPACK, and in this case for its sack closing division based in Schenefeld, Hamburg (formerly Doboy).

For generations, MEYPACK closing machines for sacks of all commonly available materials and every conceivable closing system have enjoyed a very good reputation with production and packing operations for free-flowing goods. The core competence established in many years of Doboy closing open-mouth sacks continues to be deliberately cultivated following the takeover of the business by MEYPACK (headquarters in Nottuln/Appelhlsen, near Mnster/Germany). The range of machines has been expanded and brought into line with growing customer demands.

The sack closing machines of the FTS... series (Fold-Tape-Seal) have developed into a best-seller. Wherever products go directly to the end consumer, convenience is called for as a marketing instrument. Sacks and bags should be easy to open, and in some cases they should also be easy to reclose after partial use. Thanks to the MEYPACK FTS 600, this has for years been standard for large sacks with a capacity of 15 - 50 kg. For some time now there has also been the FTS-B, the smaller machine variant specially developed for closing smaller bags with a capacity of 3 - 15 kg. Toothed belts instead of heavy chains make it possible to place the seal closer to the product level than in the past (resulting in short bag tops). They ensure gentle guidance of bags through the machine without leaving any traces on the outside of the bag.

Even the good old sack or bag cannot escape the growing consumer demand for attractive, functional closures. Suppliers who can offer not only standard, but also convenience, have a head start in the race for consumer preference. Whether it be tear-open aids, reclosability or meaningful user information on the bag itself consumers reward packs that give them added value. For example, thanks to the FTS-B, firmly sealed bags with originality guarantee that are easy to open and optionally to reclose.

The FTS-B presented at POWTECH 2004 is only one of many machines in MEYPACKs extensive product programme. The advice offered by the team at the exhibition stand is not confined to the machine on display, but extends to all machine types and their specific user benefits for the bagging industry worldwide.
