Thread: Weighing Equipment for Fly Ash

  1. Lightbulb Weighing equipment for fly ash

We intend to put up dry fly ash storage silos at our power station to cater to various users of ash. We plan to have a weighing arrangement below the silos to account for the ash quantity collected by a user. What type of weighing arrangement would be suitable for this case?

  2. Dear Sirs,
our company has realised a similar equipment you need 5 years ago at Power Plant Tusimice (CZ). The equipment consists of pneumatic fluid conveyors, pneumatic dischrgers, Schenck weight MULTICOR and automatic filling device (spout). If you contact me at my E-mail, I will send you some photos.

    Best regards

  4. The power plant silos are normally with the bulk loading spout arrangement wherin the tanker that takes the material out are customarily weighed (bare and fully loaded) and the output thus evaluated.

In case the extraction is to be monitored then the weighing system is required under the silo.

If the process is further explained, the suitable suggestion could be furnished

You may wish to consider an impact weigher. They are reasonably accurate (+/-50 Kg per tone) and can be programed to stop flow when a desired tonnage is reached.

The only problem is that fly ash is abrasive and the impact plate would have to be replaced regularly (6 monthly)

You will require approxitmatley 1500mm from the outlet of your silo to the inlet of you truck loading unit.

Please contact me at davidh@transmin.com.au if you would like further details.

    Weighing of Fly Ash silo

    Dear Sir,

We can undertake this job.The silo would rest on 3 or 4 loadcells depending on its shape and size. These loadcells would connect to a Digital weight Indicator which would be caliberated to display the correct weight. If control functions e.g. filling, automatic cutoff,low/high alarms are required, the special weighing indicator cum controller can be installed by us which has setpoints connected to the filling system/alarms.The system can also be connected to DCS or Pc system for report consolidation. Pl let us know how to proceed further in the matter, if a quote is required we need the silo drawings,Alternatively Belt weighers can be installed below the silos and the material can be weighed while moving on the belt weighers, you can know the flow rate and the totals of the material extracted from the silos,, We manufacture high precision double idler belt weighers, Best regards, A.Bhutani Ashbee Systems.P.Ltd C 64, Okhla Industrial Area Ph 1 New Delhi 110020,India Web www.ashbee.com Fax-91-11-26816566/26460087 Ph-011-26816687/88/89/90

    Dear Mr. Vishy

The Siemens Milltronics E-40 Solids Flowmeter has been successfully used in numerous applications to measure the flow of flyash under gravimetric conditions from a chute, bin or an aerated gravity conveyor.
Additionally, our Sitrans LR400 has been very successful in measuring the levels in flyash silos and bins, even during filling conditions.
